Developing decision model and sustainable mapping to screen the efficiency of brownfield redevelopment based on socioeconomic open data

Abstract The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015, comprise 17 goals developed to balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Regional sustainable development can be considered an important part of investment redevelop brownfields. With breakthroughs information technology, Taiwan has established a number open databases. This study uses datasets regional socioeconomic geo-information develop SDG map screen suitable brownfield locations for redevelopment. In addition, this designed Brownfield Redevelopment Query model that combines geographic obtained from big data with potentiality evaluating benefit-cost ratios (BCRs). Land stakeholders obtain useful prior investment. flexible user interface is exploring outcomes BCRs (consolidation, internalities, externalities) four land-use scenarios (residential, industrial, commercial, other public land renewable energy facilities) redevelopment BCR positively dominated operating profits reuse stage two sites. externalities value studied cases positive, particularly converting residential if site located at Level 4 or 5 map.
